Provence-olive oil

where is the best olive oil you have found in Provence?

Frank Oct 23rd, 2001 12:12 AM

Where it is? In my kitchen.

the best ? Well... the oil produced in the Vallée des Baux. At one time there were over three hundred olive oil mills in the area, and now with restorations and renovations there are probably close to 60 in operation again.
A few export to the US and here are the names of a couple:

Moulin des Barres and Cooperative Cornille (Maussane-les-Alpilles)
Moulin Neuf (in Mouriès)
Moulin de l'Estoublon (Fontvieille)

PB
We brought some back from Les Baux and it was excellent!! We bought it at an olive oil store there.

Every year, I say to my husband. "we are out of olive oil, time to go to the Cornille Coop in Massaune.

Mimi...

If you run out before your next trip here, you might like to try The oil from the Moulin du Mas des Barres...

You can mail order it in the US from [email protected] (Olivier Herbulot)
This was not a good year for the olive crop - so there will be less oil available in the coming year. Stock up while you can !

PB
