Provence: Le Mas de Carassins or Mas dom Pater?
I posted seperately for Paris hotel help, but I would appreciate help with Provence as well. I've done sooooo much research and my husband is running out of patience
We've narrowed it down to Le Mas de Carassins and Mas dom Pater. I know the first is well-received on this board, but I would like more info on Mas dom Pater.
Thank you!!

I just found another post from someone else regarding these same two b&b's, and they didn't get any responses, either. I guess no Fodorites have stayed at the Mas dom Pater at all?

It is indeed. The website is lovely, I'm just uneasy about jumping in without any word of mouth...

miel, I would give it a try (Dom Pater) it looks really nice and the guest book has nice comments (more than half of them is in French). It is not so new since the website has been made in 2004 and they might start to rent out earlier. Maybe it is quite well known in France. I found it here as well

Unfortunately unless other Mas, they are not on tripadvisor yet...
If you ever go there don't forget to make a trip report

I highly recommend Les trois figuiers www.lestroisfiguiers.fr
We have stayed there 3 times and it is so wonderful! We have stayed in the Cigales room in the Sous l'Olivier side (it's all the same property) and in the Tulipe room twice. Both were excellent. Breakfast is served outside on their pebble patio with a view of the Luberon mountains. Dinner is exceptional. It begins around 7 p.m. with drinks and entres and continues until 11 p.m. All the guests eat around the same table (usually outdoors) and you'll have guests from the U.S. and Europe usually. It's such a special place. They are near Isle sur la Sorgue. The property also has 2 swimming pools and a large yard. It is a true mas even though mas isn't in their name. Isabelle and Roland own the home and their 30ish son and his wife (with new baby) have become the owners of the Sous l'Olivier side. He is now doing the cooking also. It is truly a special place.

Coco, Thank you for the links--they show pictures of the room (Provincial) we are interested in, but is not on the main website. Very helpful.
Stu, I agree, it's not like they'd post something that says, "Well, we had a ho hum time at the Mas dom Pater and didn't mind the ants." It could be a really crappy place that photographs well...
Judyrem, A studio sounds nice so you can cook. I hate going to markets and not being able to buy fresh fish and meats, etc., but I figure we'll just eat out every meal. After all, it is a vacation

We stay in Gites (houses) for up to 5 weeks at a time. Can't afford to eat out every day and don't want to either. We pick up a pre-roasted Chicken, Rabbit, Quail, or Paella from the outdoor market or grocery, and re-heat it at our Gite. Salads are a good break also.
