Provence lavender & sunflowers fields in August

Hello! I will be spending the first week of August in Paris and then thinking of visiting Provence before going to Nice. I really want to see the famous lavender and sunflower fields but I'm wondering if there will be any left by the 2nd week of August --- around Aug.10--14. Anyone who can offer some insight on this?

I highly doubt lavendar will be in the fields...I believe they bloom in early July and will be gone by August.

We saw sunflowers in Italy in early July as well and I would guess august would be too late too..,

I think you might see some lavender, possibly sunflowers, but they are usually harvested at the beginning of August (sunflowers), and don't look so fresh then anyway. YOu'd have better luck if you were there the first week in AUgust.

Why don't you turn your trip around, and go to Provence first? 1st vs 2nd week in Paris doesn't make much difference.

I think the lavender is harvested later in the Sault area, perhaps. I know they don't have their annual lavender festival until August 14th or so.
