I also recommend visiting Ansouis, if you have the time, which is near Lourmarin. It's a lovely village perched on a hill, and it is not touristy or overrun with crowds. We were just there 2 weeks ago, and I think we were the only tourists. Most other people were locals. I didn't see one single tourist gift shop. There are about 4 or 5 restaurants, a ceramics store, small food market, 2 art galleries, the Chateau d'Ansouis, and a very old church. I posted more information on xyz99's thread if you want more detailed information.

I am glad it all worked out for you. It just goes to show that we are all different in what we like to do. What suits one person may not suit the next . If we took note of every ' not worth visiting' I have read over the years, we would have missed places we have really enjoyed. That is what is so good about independent travel. We all see things slightly differently.
