Provence in September

Mrs Wengenlover and I are thinking we'd like to visit Provence for a week in September. Not being Jetsetters per se,,,, we don't want to spend a fortune....just eat and drink well and relax relax relax...

Would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.... Merci

September is a wonderful time to visit. Eat at the local village cafes where it is fresh food that the locals eat and is inexpensive.

Have you considered renting a house for a week? It's often less expensive than hotels or B&B's and you get to live like a local. There are several websites that list gites and villas for rent. You just pick out where you'd like to be -- village or larger town and the approximate locale, and you can usually find houses or apartments at several different levels of accommodation and cost. To get the most out of a week in Provence, you would need to rent a car, as well.

Bon voyage!

Hmmm. Not much info to go on. Are you going to move around much? Do you want access to public transport? What region? Do you want to rent a car for independence? What are your interests (besides eating, drinking and relaxing)? A bit more info will help with the suggestions.

Sounds like a good idea. Provence isn't that expensive, it is cheaper than Paris except for the couple of very expensive exclusive resort hotels with Michelin stars or something.
