Weather can vary dramatically at this time of year--can be like our Spring on the east coast, or there can be the Mistral at that time---if the Mistral is blowing hard, it will be chilly and u can be blown away. Flowering trees and many wildflowers in bloom.

Take care,
Robyn France

Joan,
The Mistral (northern wind) can blow at any time of the year, not only & not necessarily in April.
Bon voyage!

First, forget the song "April in Paris." It can be very cold and nasty in the Spring. Of course, you can have a heat wave also. In fact, if anyone tells you what the weather in Paris will be at any particular time, don't believe them. They don't know, I don't know, you won't know until you get there. Paris is so changeable and unpredictable nobody really knows. Could be sunny, mild, cold, cloudy, nasty, windy, rainy. People have been cold in July and warm in October. So be prepared with layers to put on or take off, umbrellas, hope for sunny, mild weather and you'll be fine. For more Paris information go to www.anamericaninparis.com

Whoops - sorry - I didn't notice you wanted Provence.

Was in Provence and Nice this past year the end of April. Cold, Rainy and windy about sums it up. While Nice was much warmer than Provence, we experienced the Mistral in Provence and it was not pleasant.
