Hotels in Naples

My husband and I will be in Naples for one or two nights in October. This will be our first time to visit, so we would like to stay somewhere that we can get to relativley easily while carrying luggage from the airport. We would also like to be within walking distance of the historical city center. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for your help!

We'd like to spend around $120- that will probably get us a 1-2 star hotel. But more imporatntly, we want to be in a safe area and able to walk to things.

I spent a lot of time researching for our week-long stay 2 years ago and was very pleased with the location of my choice, the Hotel Executive. It's

- just on the edge of the historic centre so most sights are walkable

- a 5 minute walk from the express airport bus's stop for the port

- a 5-10 minute walk from the port for hydrofoils to Ischia, Capri & the Amalfi Coast

- a 5-10 minute walk from the opera house

- a 5 minute walk from a street where most of the buses stop for further-flung sights like Capodimonte and the Catacombs of San Gennaro.

It's also the opposite ende of the centre from the dodgy are round the main railway station (piazza Garibaldi). We paid 110 euros for a superior double in June - I daresay October will be cheaper.

I wrote a Tripadvisor review - will try to look it up when I have time tomorrow.

We always felt perfectly safe in Naples - just take standard big city precautions.

Hi L,

Try http://piazzabellini.hotelsinnapoli....piazza+bellini

It's a rather new *** hotel.

They have dbls in Oct for 95E.

I think that you take the bus from the airport to the train station and the metro to Piazza Cavour.

It's a few blocks downhill from the Archaeological Museum.

If that doesn't work, try www.venere.com.

You might find the Naples part of my trip report helpful:

This one is €93/night (just slightly above your budget). It's right in the historical center just next to the Santa Chiara complex. I'll be there in April.

IT has excellent Tripadvisor reviews but I would love comments from anyone who has stayed here or thoughts on the neighborhood.

Piazza Bellini as mentioned by Ira is great. We have stayed there and love it.

As a P.S. to my previous post - here's my Tripadvisor review - http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR..._Campania.html.

I chose the hotel based on location after narrowing down hotels by price and area on Venere, cross-checking with Tripadvisor reviews & the purchase of a good (Touring Club Italiano) large scale street map, so I could check exactly where each hotel was in relation to everything else. It's well worth getting that map.

I know this is an old thread but I need to ask a question about the Hotel Piazza Bellini.

I am considering a few hotels including Piazza Bellini. My Dad/stepmom will be joining me so I need to know if there is an elevator/lift. I can manage with stairs but it's a deal breaker for my Dad.

Thanks.

Have you checked with the hotel? Even if it has a lift for some rooms, it might not have one that serves ALL rooms, and apparently, that would be critical for you.

Take a taxi to the http://www.bebmedea.com/ If ever going back to Naples, that is where we will stay again.
