okay -- not sure where you are right now, but I'd suggest four nights in Nice and then maybe four nights in Avignon. There are plenty to see in each and near each, and they are different experiences. YOu can get between them on the train easily. If not Avignon, then Aix-en-Provence, which is closer to Nice.

If you have a car the entire time, you might want to stay in smaller cities as it will be easier for parking and driving. I'd still maybe do four nights in Nice, and then maybe hire the car and stay in St Remy, perhaps, which is near Avignon but a smaller towner. No need for a car while in Nice.

hi christina ty. at home right now getting the suitcases. leaving for the airport in just 24 hours from now. i will be with the car all the time and as i lived in bug towns almost all my life i quite like the idea of sleepy little towns or even villages. i love to see how the people live and work now rather than historical sights. plus a bit of culture and art thrown in if possible.

I suggest four nights in St Remy Where you can day trip to the Alpiles, the Gard and the Vauclu and the other four outside of Aix or in the town to visit the Alps and the Cote D'Azur.

Christina,

You are working with her, but why not think about the small town places for her with a car..Maussane, Les Baux in the St. Remy area and then on to the Luberon areas..The Marseille airport is easy in/out of and rental car pickup/drop off. With that amount of time, she can certainly keep busy enough in these areas....

Oh I missed that she works with her.
sorry.

huh? I'm not working with anyone, don't know what you are talking about.
