I love shorts but confess that now that I am in my mid 40s i am somewhat horrified by the cellulite that I have acquired along with my travel brochures
over the last 10 yrs.
I must say that this issue to some degree is one of good taste--- do you have "good" legs? Nice, classy shorts?
Do you look like Roseanne & plan on wearing spandex bike shorts? Unlike a Rose, a short by any other name is not!

Anne sumlady:

Aren't you glad you asked this question? On careful considereation, we have decided it's all too much for us. We are cashing in our tickets for a month in Europe and instead, we have selected Miluakee as our point of destination. It was a close tie between a european nudist colony and an opportunity to wear every garish article of clothing we owned. Hope we made the right choice.

Love to see the Texas tourists get off the planes at SFO in February in shorts, T shirts, and white athletic shoes! Legs will soon turn blue in the California sunshine! Haven't noticed whether they have zippers to make them into slacks, though. And, could someone define what a skort is?? Am I missing something here? Are skorts for just women or for men as well? What a ridiculous discussion this is.

Dearest Frank,

A skort is a combo of a skirt and a pair of shorts. From the back, you see the fabric between the legs and it looks like shorts. From the front, there is a solid piece of fabric (like a skirt) and you don't see the fabric between the legs.

But the real issue is whether skorts are "hip." My 8-year old daughter says skorts are for dorks. Ouch!

So long, Dr. F

Milwaukee's gain will be Europe's loss.

Hi! Good luck w/ your traveling....
Just for the record, I was in Rome last in June of 1999, and it was necessary in almost every single church for women to have their shoulders covered and knees covered. My suggestion-bring a sarong or oversized scarf to use as a shawl or as a wrap around skirt. It'll fit easily into your purse or backpack.
If you do bring shorts, I suggest nice pairs. Just be comfortable and have fun!

Hi Anne:

I'm from Milwaukee,(actually a 'burb)but for your information you will be expected to wear proper attire when you go on the Brewery Tour. Save the wild and crazy stuff when you visit the Zoo!!...Paul J
