Pronouncing Welsh Names

Is there anywhere I can find out how to pronounce Welsh names (places)? I don't want to butcher the language too badly when I visit next year.

Melanie,

If you visit a search engine such as yahoo or infoseek and enter "welsh place names pronunciation" you will find several websites on the subject.

A couple which might be useful:
http://www.kc3.co.uk/~bicycle/sideways/language.html
http://www.wales-hotel.co.uk/1accomm/welsh1.htm

Also, you might find this interesting. One of my all-time favorite websites with loads of pictures and info on Wales:
http://www.castlewales.com/home.html

Dave
Try this site:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/catchphrase/catchphrase1/
for your specific language learning requests.
It is part of the B B C Website, which also has a fully-fledged Welsh-language service, on T V, radio and the internet. The above site will take you to that general site. I am sure you will agree it is very comprehensive.

Since we are on the subject of Welsh names, does anyone know the name Trefan? Is that a man's or woman's name? Thanks.
