Biscuit Feb 28th, 2003 01:59 PM

It's definitely been down today. The whole site.

DixieChick Feb 28th, 2003 02:00 PM

So nice to be back. What a boring afternoon at work with no forums!

JAFA Feb 28th, 2003 02:01 PM

Had tons of trouble all afternoon, and looking at the times of the last postings, everyone had trouble.

Betsy Feb 28th, 2003 04:20 PM

Looks like the site was down from 1 pm to 6 pm EST. I was about to hyperventilate!

daph Feb 28th, 2003 04:26 PM

Also here on the West Coast

littletraveler Feb 28th, 2003 04:53 PM

YES!!! It is SO annoying. It will tell me "page cannot be displayed," or it will freeze up. This has been happening for days now, not just today for me. :-(

Patrick Feb 28th, 2003 07:08 PM

Yes, it was completely down all afternoon, but I think that was a good thing. The last few days the site has been sooooooooo slow. But apparently they fixed it, because now that it's back up and running, the posts and the downloading are all very quick again.

same problem here !!! I wonder what life will be without Fodors!!!....Before I used to go to Frommers, but I find this site much more interesting and educational also..

fiona Feb 28th, 2003 11:26 PM

Patrick
yes, I had also noticed that the site had been very slow. There seems to have been quite a lot of problems recently. Hopefully things have improved now!

Had trouble earlier this week including freezing..I rebooted several times. Friday most of the day(West Coast US) it didn't work although I did try entry a variety of ways. I, too, also kept getting "Page could not be displayed"..I must admit it put a dent in the day.

"Feels" very "sluggish" this morning; server not found often, etc.

Whatever pains they're having, they're not over yet.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
Just logged on from the foggy West Coast and am finding the site barely crawling along. My new mantra is Keep On Clicking. Seems to work eventually.

Gardyloo Mar 3rd, 2003 06:28 AM

Very slow server; in addition it seems my screens love to hang while the advertising applets load, especially an annoying one from Hyatt. IMO the ads consistently seem to slow the site down. Anyone else that feels this way?

VERY slow or incomplete loading (get left side but not right or vice verse.
