Private Transportation to Munich Airport

Greetings Fodorites

I have been searching on the internet for a cheap way to get my mother-in-law from Roth (A small town outside Nurnberg) to the Munich airport.

Can't find any shuttle services like they have over here. (The big blue van)

The train is out of the question. She will have too much luggage to wrestle with and recently got her purse snatched while she slept on that same train so now she's too afraid.

I found a limo service but their price was 630 euro each way. For that I could fly over there and accompany her!

Does anyone have any links to bus schedules? Maybe that would be safer and easier with the luggage.

Try this:

By Bus -- Long-distance bus service from such cities as Munich and Frankfurt is provided by Europabus Line nos. 183 and 189E of Deutsche Touring GmbH, operating out of Frankfurt. For information in Nürnberg, call Reisebüro Okyay (tel. 0911/26-63-64). Regional bus service with frequent connections to neighboring towns is offered by OVF Omnibusverkehr Franken GmbH, Kopernikusplatz 14 in Nürnberg (tel. 0911/4-39-06-66).

Hope this helps

Air Berlin has a connection from Nürnberg to Munich (3 times a week in the evening, € 69 or so). www.airberlin.com

Lufthansa has flights, too. Prices will be higher, I suppose.

Further to "Bird"'s suggestion: The long distance busses usually run along the autobahn. You may want to check if these busses would pick up your mother-in-law at the Allersberg Autobahn exit, just east of Roth.
