Private Tour Vatican Museum March 27
 

I found out about a private tour of the Vatican Museum on Monday, March 27. I have signed up, but we need more people to make it a "go". Here's the deal....cost 150E pp, tour is from 5-7 pm, after the museums close to the general public. I think they need 15 people, and have about 9 so far. If they don't get enough by the end of the week, they'll cancel. Sounds like a great deal to me, so I'd love for enough people to sign up. I heard about it from someone on the slowtrav board.

150 Euros for two hours-you got to be kidding? Someone is making some big money on this!

its an after-hours tour...total cost is 2200 E...I'm not sure how much the company who is organizing it pays, but that's why they need 15 or so people...to keep it (relatively) reasonable. I like the idea of seeing the Sistine Chapel with just a very few people instead of huge crowds. It not worth it to everyone, but someone may be interested. I hope so, because if we don't get 14- 15 people, it doesn't happen!

Anne: I booked this tour for May from www.contextrome.com called the 'Sistine Chapel Seminar'.

It's an early tour of the Chapel before the Vatican Museums open to the public which might interest you.

The meeting time is 0745 so I'm *assuming* it's a 0800 entrance, which is 45min before the public opening.

They skip the museum and beeline straight to the Chapel, later using the 'tour group exit' the 2nd half of the tour is in St. Peter's Basilica.

Context Rome's are limited to 6 people, so it's a semi-private tour. It's 3hrs and costs 50e and they have a tour on March 27 with openings if you're interested. Regards, Walter

Thanks Walter...I'll check into that if the one we've signed up for is a no-go. I'll know by the end of the week, so as soon as we get to Athens on Friday, I'll get word about the other one, and sign up for this one if needed.
