If you chose to do an inexpensive group walk instead I enjoyed the Gotic walk from the Barcelona tourist office which started at their office near Placa Sant Jame. It was 2 hrs long and 12E/pp. They have a number of different themed walks each day from various offices. You can get more info at http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/

In 2008 we used BCN Tours for a day-long walking tour and were very happy with the guide and the whole experience.

The ladies at Foreverbarcelona are great! Try booking Marta, if you can: she's the owner and a terrific tour guide. Miriam was also wonderful and she had wonderful recommendations for the rest of our trip.

Marta is a personal friend of ours. And yes, she´s great and has an interesting blog.
