Private tour Athens

Has anyone used Spiros as tourguide in Athens? He can pick us up at the cruiseship, give us a full day tour and drop us off at the airporthotel, all for the price of 200 Euros. We are seniors and are afraid of being ripped off. Thanks for any info you can give us.

Perhaps you are unaware that Spiros is a common name in Greece. I'm sure there are many Spiros' floating around offering tours. That said, 200 EUR seems pretty reasonable for a full day's touring.

Thanks for your reply. No, I didn't know that Spiros is such a common name. Anyway, this Spiros is advertising at "athenstaxi.net"

The best way ,AND safest way to arrange your Athens private tour(an excellent idea ans best value for money) and airport transfer is to book your driver through the representative office or the cruise agent in Greece : you will get a better service, reliable infos and of course the best garantee.

Then youn should insist that you want a deluxe car- NOT older than 2 years-,usually a mercedes fully air conditioned and a skilled driver (for the sightseeing and infos)

I seem to remember stories of cruiseship tourists being ripped off by so-called taxi services arranged and paid for in advance over the internet. Make sure your Spiros is for real. Find out if any travel agencies in your area can give you a reference to someone who offers the same services. That way you can compare pricing as well as deal with someone who's proved themselves.

Or Try This:
Send an email to the Greek National Tourism Organization, GNTO, and ask for a referral: [email protected]
