Private Room in Milan

I have friend going to Milan for treatment. She needs to stay near public transportation. She's traveling alone, and would prefer a quiet location. Her lodging budget is between 700-900 USD for one month.

She's having trouble finding a place to stay. Any suggestions?

Is she preferring an apartment? Are there any special requirements for the apartment or hotel we need to know about?

I don't know if we have misunderstood the nature of the room your friend requires, but if you are saying you need a hotel room (as hostels do not offer much privacy) and it is for a month and the budget is $900 in total that is about 1/2 what the least expensive room I see listed would cost. Milan is a rather luxe destination!

Perhaps you should re-post looking for apartment suggestions, with the time of year mentioned?

Also, the location of the treatment center would be a useful clue in recommending housing, as well as convenient public transportation. We would like to help, but need details.

She might also consider contacting the treatment center for advice.

Contacting the treatment center is the best thing to do.

Depending on the time of year she's traveling, there are more affordable places to stay in towns on the train lines that terminate at the Milano Centrale or Milano Cadorna train stations, which both have subway, bus and tram lines (plus cabs) to the rest of the city. If she's up for a 20-50 minute commute into Milano, she might consider outlying towns.
