Private or small tours for Budapest, Vienna & Prague

We are looking for suggestions for private or small tours for Budapest, Vienna & Prague. Maybe something simple to introduce us to each city. We will be there in May. Do they have hop on & off bus tours ? Thank you

In October we scheduled a tour in Budapest. I cannot say enough about how information it was. Also it was very personal.

This is a small tour company and they give very individual attention to their participants.

We also took the hop on hop off but I wasn't impressed. Others might disagree.

If I had to do it again I would schedule more tours with Beyond Budapest.

Sorry. Cannot help with Vienna or Prague.

In both Prague and Budapest found small scale walking tours through the tourist office. Each was 8 to 10 people, covered a limited area and lasted about 2 hours. Guides were local university students with excellent English and great knowledge of their cities. I f nd these much more interesting than canned hoppy buses - which are usually least common denominator - and only show you outsides of major sights - not details of specific neighborhoods (or themes) and expensive for what you get.

It really depends on what you want to get out of seeing a city. And you need to recognize that most cities have central pedestrian districts - often with no access except by foot.

In Prague I would not bother with the HOHO bus, the historical center is very small, try http://www.trkalova.guide-prague.cz/ for a guide, she is quite well known
