I have met Michael. He is perhaps 30, very enthusiastic, mannerly, knowledgeable, good sense of humor.

HI,

We spent a day with Michael in Paris a couple weeks ago. He's a great guy, very knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic. I thought his fee was very reasonable--75 euros for the day is what he requests.

It did take several emails to get a response so keep trying.

Patti

Altoid: We have reserved Michael Osmon for a day in Paris in June for our 3 generational family. (Kids 8&10) He wrote that he looked forward to our group and could easily plan to deal with the our varied age & energy levels. He also knows my husband is limited in his walking stamina and has plans to accommodate that. So, we are really pleased to have this as part of our Paris visit. I, of course, discovered Michael on this site.

For those of you who have utilized Michael's services, how did you arrange the day? Did you tell him what you wanted to see, or did you just leave it in his hands?

Thanks for the info!

Happy....my Dad and I used him in October..had a wonderful day. We told him in general what we were interested in, and what we were comfortable seeing on our own. Based on that, he had some suggestions, but was very flexible and wanted to make sure we saw what we wanted to. For example, he said early on that we were better off doing the Eiffel Tower on our own rather than using our time with him for that. I'm not an art lover, but his knowledge made our time in the art museums really enjoyable. I'm sure you'll enjoy your tour with him.

Anne

Hi again, I've booked my time with Michael as well now. I'm relieved to have someone there to show us around. There has been too much bad press about France I was a little worried doing it all on our own. Michael wrote back encouraging information of good relations and attitude. This also makes me feel better. I didn't want to change our plans if we could help it. Also my thanks to everyone at this site.
Thanks to the posters. I've been in contact with Michael and will use his service to assist my family with our site seeing during our approching trip. He did take a bit of time to reach, but was filled with good, helpful information when responding. Made us feel good about the trip.
Thanks-I'll give you all a report when I return.
Al

Thank you to this board for finding us Michael. We found this post mentioning Michael/Parisfind just before leaving for our trip to Paris last week. He had time for us, and we booked his services. It turned out to be the best money that I spent in the trip. He made what is already a truly beautiful city come to life for us.
By the way, the Parisians could not have been nicer to us. The experience was perfect and I have this helpful travel board and Michael to thank for this. Contact him if you have any concerns as we had before leaving. He kept us both calm and made gawking at the sites much more fun.
Paris was perfect this time of the year. We had near perfect weather.
We stayed at a hotel that I also found on this site. I also cannot say enough about this place. The Hotel d'Aubusson
on rue Dauphine was a beautiful place. The staff there were terrific. The weather was so nice one morning- we were able to sneak our breakfast out in the courtyard. Our room was perfect for us. Loved the wooden beamed ceilings. We were able to relax each night after returning for wild touring with Michael at the cozy bar in the hotel. There was even a piano player there to entertain. My mind is still in Paris. I don't know how I will be able to return to work tomorrow morning.
One more thank you to everyone that posts on this board.
Happy travels.

Hi, I seem to be having the some trouble in reaching Michael. I really just want to confirm our arranged dates with him. We just want to be sure he shows up for us. Has anyone called him? The answering machine that picks up is in French. I haven't left a message thinking I've got the wrong number. Has anyone else called the number he offers? Maybe I'm worrying too much.

Email is best if you don't catch him by phone. He can take a while to respond when he is busy with the rest of us But he is both reliable and worth your patience!

I know Paris reasonably well and the two visits I have engaged Micahel he has shown me many wonderful corners and places that were new -- so he's not just for first-timers Ask him how he's doing on the "fountain tour" I suggested he develop

I agree that Michael is worth waiting for; He is charming, very reliable, and offers a great service at a very fair price. I contacted him last year when I was traveling with my brother in a wheelchair, and he and an associate set us up with a great 3 day visit to Paris highlights that are wheelchair accessible.(Not an easy task) I agree that email is your best bet.

Just wanted to post that I did reach Michael yesterday by phone to confirm our dates with him. We are even more excited about visiting Paris now that we spoke to Micheal in person. We had a very pleasant conversation. I was happy to have the chance to speak with him so that we could make a few plans for our touring in the coming month. It sounds as if all the positives are correct. We will be in good hands. Thanks
Laura

We have reserved his help for June. How did you decide what you want him to show you? This is my husband's first trip, and I haven't been there for so many years, it is like my first as well. What would you suggest he would excel at showing us?

wren,
We used Michael to get us around to the various neighborhoods of Paris.
He is an artist so we thought he would help most with seeing art. He really did made the works of art in both the Louvre and d'Orsay come to life for us. It was a wonderful experience to look at a select group of paintings and sculptures with him. We ended up learning something from Michael that maybe helped us understand art and creating it better than we had before we walked in the door. Other than his knowing something about everything in Paris, he seems best at the art stuff. My wife loved the info he told us about Notre-Dame too.

When I spoke to Michael this week I forgot to ask him about his shopping skills and if he is familiar with the good places to shop around Paris. I'm assuming he knows these sort of things. I get the impression that he does. If anyone has used Michael's skills as a shopper and not only as an art and history guide, I would like to hear some input.
thanks

Thanks Jody and Domen...I think I just need to call him and talk. I have only made contact with him through e-mail. It does seem that since art is his expertise, we should take advantage of that. I guess we also really need to narrow down what we want to see and learn about!!!

wren,
have you had the chance to speak to Michael by phone? I did talk with him again this week. I just caught him before getting to bed-forgot about the time difference. He was very encouraging and enthusiastic about getting us to the sites and wherever we wanted to go in or out of Paris. It should be a pleasure to tour with him. You should try and reach him if you are unsure of what you might do with him. Didn't he send you his phone information?
Hope you get in touch soon.
Thanks to all for these recommendations for Michael's services.
