Private Guide in Montpellier

Hi Fodorites, DH and I will be 3 nights in Montpellier, France and are wondering if any of you have ever hired a private driver for a day's drive from there. Don't ask where yet ok? Pont du Garde only "for sure" at this point. We have successfully hired a taxi driver and looked unsuccessfully for local students in other places. THis is feasibility study only! Thanks as always.

Ok, this really is my last time topping this question. I'll let you know what happens when we return.

What a nice nice place to visit! Montpellier has a tram that "lands" right by the train station so we just took train to Arles and Avignon and that was fine. We spent the rest of the time truly enjoying Montpellier. Not touristy (at least not in March), lots of places to eat and drink (because of students?) and there is an escalator and elevator in the train station which were sooo helpful for the breathing-impaired! We stayed in New Hotel du Midi which is almost right on the Place de la Comedie (no noise in our room). Have read that parking/driving can be confusing but that didn't apply for us.
