Private Guide for Normandy

We are six people who want a private tour of the battlefields of the Normandy area. Dale Boothe is not available for the time we need. Any other recommendations? I know that Battlebus guides are giving private tours now. Any help is appreciated.

Try Overlord Tours. We used them in March and they were excellent. There are others as well, a Google search will turn up alternatives.

We used Overlord 3 years ago, and were very pleased. However, I have read good reviews of many of the specialist tour companies, and think you should take whatever suits your needs and is available.

I have no personal experience with this person but I have clients who have used him and he comes highly recommended. He is also a well known poster on the Normandy forum of the Trip Advisor travel website, where his username is cpmac:

We had Allan Bryson who used to be with Battlebus and now has his own guide service. Do a Google search and you will find a link for him. He was excellent! I would definitely seek him out again for a tour, FWIW.

Thanks, we're going with Allan Bryson. Should be good.

Espinach1, glad you resolved the issue.

“The beaches” cover such an extensive area. Have you chosen your itinerary yet? Are you leaving from Paris?

It’s quite a place. Please let us know how you enjoyed it…

Thanks, we're not going until October but I'll let you know.

I would be interested in hearing how the tour was as I am on a quest to find a tour for a trip in the Spring.

We just got back from our Paris/Normandy vacation. To be specific about Normandy we did use Allan Bryson and were impressed beyond words. It was like being with one of the generals from WW II. He knew everything there was to know about the Normandy invasion. He had pictures and maps and could answer any question we had. He made it an unforgettable experience and highly, highly recommend him. Thanks to all for giving us his name.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed him as much as we did:)
