Private family oriented tours in Rome

My tween, teen and I will be spending 4 days in Rome and would like to spend at least one day touring the Colloseum, Forum, etc. I'm thinking that hiring a private tour that is good with kids would allow them to get the most out of the visit. I would love any suggestions you might have. Are there any other must sees in Rome with kids my age?

Well - depending on the kids ages and interests they may be interested in the same things you are (our DDs 11 and 14 liked almost everything we did - but added a little shopping for tscotkes for themselves).

I would also add the Pantheon, church of san celemente (you can climb down thought several levels to the Temple of Mithras on which it was built. Als the Capitoline Museum.

I would definitely also add exploring the historic center (fountains, piazzas and lots of cafes to sit in with a drink and watch the world go by - esp Pza Navona) and definitely the Vatican - even if only St Peter;s the Dome and the treasury.

Private tours usually mean you want a guide just for the two of you and no one else. Is that what you want? If so, look at the master guides for Italy thread.

If not, you want a group tour, not private.
