Private driver between cities

Has anyone ever used a private driver to go between Rome and Florence and/or Florence to Venice? I was thinking of doing this instead of a train since there will be two of us and thought it might not be too much more epxensive.

I think it would be MUCH more expensive than the train.

Definitely much more expensive!

LimoServiceRome for example quote € 360 for Rome-Florence.

And train takes half the time ...

Thanks. I will save the money and use it on olive oil and balsamic vinegar!

A very wise decision!

damama, take the Eurostar, and book yourself a first-class ticket. It is not, IMO, very expensive. You will be in a smoke-free car within the train, and will also be served a beverage at no cost. If your trip is in one of the warmer months, you will also enjoy the air-conditioning.

I looked into this last year when I was going to travel with my elderly mom. The price between Rome and Florence for the five of us was going to be about $500! Made the train seem like an excellent choice!
