Printed TKT at SNCF site
 

Hi, I read the tricks how to print out the TGV tickets at SNCF site even you are not a residnet of France in Fodor's.com. But can I use the printed tickets even I am a resident of Canada? Term and conditions said that "Only residents of countries listed may book the tickets" and Canada is not in the list. Do I have to show my ID when I use the printed tickets in France? If anybody knows about this, let me know. Thank you.

Just follow the "tricks": Leave France as the default country, do NOT choose cancellation insurance, fill in the fields for name and e-mail address, and ignore postal mailing address fields. Once you succeed in printing the ticket, you will NOT have a problem using it.

Hi Lila,

When you print your ticket it will have your name, the date and time of the train and your seat numbers.

Show the conductor your ticket. Have your passport handy, just in case.

I was asked for my ID by every conductor.

Yes, I have printed and used PREM'S tickets and I live in the US. If the conductor asks to see your ticket and passport, it is only to verify that you are the person whose name appears on the ticket.

You only show your printed PREM ticket and i.d. to the conductor once when they make their rounds.

With the downloaded, printed tickets, I was asked both ways for my passport.

With the two tickets that came from the SCNF office, no ID was asked for.

Yes. The conductor comes around once, but I meant this is per journey so roundtrip you've got to show your i.d. twice then.

When they come to check tickets.

PREMS tickets are good only for the person to whom they were issued and only on one train, for one ride (or 2 if it's an RT).
