Prince Charles - What's the Story?

O.K. not really a travel question, but since I am going to London in a couple of weeks and it is in the news, what is the rumor that Prince Charles is denying involves him but which no one will say what it is? Knowing the royals is must invlove sex.

Here are two links that might help explain the situation, although they don't go into specifics:

like the satire link!

DMG Nov 9th, 2003 12:56 PM

POlease summarize the articles so I won't have to go to the links. Thanks.

Dmg
just copy and paste the satire link- you can't summarise this. Not sure if you can talk about the real rumours as the post will get pulled.

With tens of thousands of newsgroups on the web there must be a more appropriate venue for this trash than this travel forum.

If you're curious about these rumours, just go to the grocery, you can check out the same stories in the tabloids at the checkout counter. They will be right there among the story about the woman giving birth to the three heading monkey and the real murderer on Jon Benet being revealed.

SeaUrchin Nov 9th, 2003 05:35 PM

I think it was something about Chas, the three headed monkey and a butler, but I am not sure.

TracyD Nov 9th, 2003 07:05 PM

I hear the Pup knows the truth. He was having a cocktail with the Queen's corgi when the whole thing was found out.

ThinGorjus Nov 9th, 2003 07:47 PM

O come on now, we all know what the rumors are. Don't you read the Daily Mail? Allegedly, Prince Charles was caught with Mr. Fawcett (his personal assistant) in a homosexual act by his former valet. This all came to surface because of Paul Borel's book, which alludes that Princess Di had tape recorded the valet's allegations to use in her divorce case. I think Prince Charles is far too square to be involved in such a matter.

Sylvia Nov 10th, 2003 01:11 AM

It's all a bit silly. The press aren't supposed to print the allegations but reading between the lines will lead you to them. My 90 year old mother knew all the details.
They are probably untrue but even if they are true it's perfectly legal for consenting adults to perform homosexual acts in private.
My attitude is "shock, horror, yawn!"

AllyPally Nov 10th, 2003 01:43 AM

I don't think that a homosexual (alleged, at this point) marrying a 19 year old, using her to produce the necessary heir and spare and then cutting her adrift is a bit silly. I think it's immoral and outrageous. If all that nonsense since 1981 went on because Diana went round the bend being married to a closeted gay, then the last 20 odd years suddenly make complete sense. There are millions of gay men living in marriages, wrecking lives as they try to reconcile their sexuality. Which is why I'm completely in favour of legalising all forms of gay institutions.

What a disgusting, stupid family this is. Everything would be fine if they didn't live so generously off the good people of the UK but they do and they are answerable. I don't care who Charles sleeps with but if this turns out to be true, then he does have a lot to answer for.

Anyone who would voluntarily scuttle Camilla is EXTREMELY heterosexual, indeed deserves a medal for it.

I couldn't; even after eight pints and with the beer goggles on full power.

JimSteel Nov 10th, 2003 05:17 AM

The act it self, while committed by homosexuals is not itself make Charlie a homosexual. You have to understand the British public school system, and the things that go on there to understand the difference. Apparently this kind of activity is seen as quite normal heterosexual behaviour, as it would for male prisoners, which isn?t in itself a bad analogy for public school boys.

earl30 Nov 10th, 2003 05:29 AM

scuttling Camilla makes Charles a hetrosexual? I don't think so. I always suspected that homely Camilla was really a man in drag. Maybe I was right all along. this explains a lot.

bob_brown Nov 10th, 2003 05:35 AM

This scandal should at least take Tony Blair off of the front page for a few days. Nothing like a juicy scandal to liven up a dreary November.
It would be funny were it not so serious.
Hmm. I wonder if the Queen's Corgi reflects the true social stance of the Royal Family? For those of you who have not had a close association with Corgis, they are stubborn and prone to bite anyone who crosses them.
(I had one under my roof until the darn animal bit my wife.)

SirGallahad Nov 10th, 2003 05:36 AM

Whaaa.....? The future King's a bleedin' pansy?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Gardyloo Nov 10th, 2003 06:07 AM

Ah well the man did attend Cambridge. More Cantab-fab?

Poor Mrs. Q. What did she do to deserve all this?

ThinGorjus Nov 10th, 2003 11:48 AM

What does reading at Cambridge have to do with it????? Bill Clinton read at Oxford and we all KNOW he isn't gay.

About Camilla's looks: she is approaching pensioner's age. I admire her for not running out and getting a face lift, boob job, and Botox. And don't forget Prince Charles is no Mel Gibson either, sweetie.
