Pret a Manger now open in NYC
 

Just thought I'd give some hope to those of you who might not make it to London this year for your Pret fix. You no longer have to cross the pond for it!<BR><BR>Hallelujah.

Whoops - messed that last post up - Pret has been in NYC quite some time now - first at Broad St. near Exchange Pl. Several other locations in midtown - addresses available at www.pret.com.

Just a Note: Pret a Manger is a part of McDonalds corp. you know the golden arches!

McDonald's owns a share of Pret -- not quite the same thing as owning it outright.

Seeing this post made me laugh and brought back memories of our (wife and I) trip to London two years ago. We went to a Pret a Manger for lunch one day and took out a couple of sandwiches to eat. My wife, who usually never complains about food took a couple of bites of her sandwich and started to gag. I thought she was going to puke. She said that there was something in the sauce that tasted so gross she wanted to spit it right out. I liked my sandwich however. Guess some of the varieties are an acquired taste.

There is one on 42nd between 5th and 6th. I went there the other day and found the quality to be quite poor (hard bread on the sandwiches and pretty sorry looking lettuce in the salads). Disappointing!
