Prepurchase tickets to the louvre?

Should I prepurchase tickets to the Louvre using the Louvre's ticketing service Ticketweb?

Yes, yes, yes! I think they may be a bit more expensive (although they may not be), but with your pre-purchased tickets in hand you can go straight in the side entrance without having to wait in line at the main "Pyramid" entrance. This line can be HORRENDOUS.

A Paris museum pass/carte musee will also help you skip the Louvre line, as well as the long line at the Orsay museum if you are going there as well.
You can buy it in Paris in many metro stations, and at any participating museum, but buy it at a small museum--the point is to not wait in line.
Museum passes are for one, three, or five consecutive days

i agree with Elaine wholeheartedly. The Carte Musee is the best purchase you can possibly make while in Paris.
