Preparing for the excitement
I noticed that a recent poster said they now have bungee jumping at the eiffel tower. Anybody know how much it costs?
I thought the best place to take the plunge for the first time would be someplace exotic like Paris, however, I am a bit nervous. We begin our trip in Amsterdam and I thought about preparing for the Eiffel plunge by taking one of those small bungee tiedowns (with hooks on each end) and wrapping it around my leg and a traffic sign near a canal. Do you think this would be a great way to prepare for a REAL bungee jump?
Hey if it fails then whats the trouble, I land in water?

The cost depends on whether you opt for the land landing, or need the services of a boat to fish you out of the Seiner. Either way, you'd be well advised to check the weather, for the authorities have ruled one must be able to see the top of the tower during any jump, and you must be able to see land and water, in order to make a you approach safe. There is, by the way, a terrific restaurant on the second landing for celebrating afterward. Reservations are a must. A mid-week jump will save your waiting on line. Ciao

How do I make reservations? Number or website? How much does it cost?

if you wear your snorkle gear, you can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak...

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, just humor me won't you?
I think I strapping on my snorkle gear while I bungee jump is a great idea. Maybe I can watch the boats float by on the Seine. One problem, I may be a bit tired after that long transatlantic drive and after hoisting my short and everso jealous wife on my shoulders to get a better view of the Sistine Chapel.
Find the humor in the arrogance of people. I simply get a kick out of watching someone get so fired up because a Japanese tourist took a flash photo in their face. It cracks me up that others rail someone for an honest question. The one I really love is "do the research yourself" and then they have some malicious comment to sign off with. I am doing nothing more than giving these fools something to really grip about. If they want to get fired up about somebodies "stupid", "uneducated" question then I will oblige them. If people want to show their arrogance of travel and how "proper" they are then is it not my right to have a good hearty laugh by telling them that I'm a Texan who sees no use in euorpean travel with such gems like Branson and Orlando in the U.S.?
