Pre-Purchase tickets to Hampton Court

We have the opportunity to pre-purchase tickets to Hampton Court before we leave on vacation. Should we?

We went in Summer 2007 and purchased them when we got there. This was early June (a Saturday I think) and there were no lines. If the tickets are not specifically dated and there is no fee I would say you could do it. You want good weather for the gardens so if you have to pick a date at purchase I would probably wait.

No. You should look for a 2-for-1 deal on the Days Out Guide (google it) that will save you 1/2 the price of the regular ticket. If the 2-for-1 is available, it costs two people one admission of about 14 GBP instead of two pre-paid online bookings of 13 each (26 total). That math seems easy to me.

Do the Royal Palaces participate in the 2 for 1 scheme?

Yes, I do recall we used the 2-for-1 at both Hampton Court and Tower of London. Definitely worth taking advantage especially when we went and the exchange rate was at $1.98! Ouch.
