Prague - which luxury hotel to choose?

Going to Prague for a 2 nights (4 girls on a treat trip ) in January. Looking for luxury and location, given that we won't be there long don't want to spend ages walking to the sights. A spa would also be nivce but isn't essential
Looking at Intercontinental, Radisson, Imperial, Paris and Carlo Boscolo. Anyone stayed in these. Would pick Mandarin Oriental if money no object but as it is won't be going! Comments welcome

I have stayed many times at the Intercontinental and Radisson and had friends stay at the other ones. The Intercontinental is down by the river (Vltava) and it is a short walk of maybe three blocks to Old Town square and thence on to Wenceslaus Square and/or over to the Charles Bridge and Mala Strana and up to the Castle District. The rooms at the Intercontinental tend to be a bit on the small side and there is very often business conferences there but it is a nice hotel and has a very nice indoor pool and pretty good spa facilities. My personal favorite is the Radisson which has just superb service which unfortunately is not found that often in Prague. I assume their spa is quite nice. The Radisson is on Stepanska Street just off Wenceslaus square and is also well located as you can walk right down the square (really it is a boulevard) toward Old Town and so on.
If a spa is not essential then I would recommend renting an apartment for your two nights. A lot are available at good prices and some are very luxurious. I own one next to the Radisson myself but I am renting it out long term so it is not available for you. If you will email me I would be happy to answer any questions that I can for you. You can use my user name and at gmail and that will get to me. Regards, MartinBSmithJr

I highly recommend the Pariz for its location (the Old Town), close to the Jewish Quarter (a tour here is a highlight of Prague) and to the Municipal House with its five concert venues and three eating/drinking places. The Pariz is a beautiful Art Nouveau hotel with great bathrooms and a fabulous buffet breakfast included in the price.

One more excellent choice - location is not that central but the hotel provides Mercedes shuttle service right into old town of Prague:

I have stayed at the Pariz and loved it also -- however, I'm not into spas so don't even know if they have one. The Pariz has an excellent location and is a very nice hotel. I wouldn't even consider the IC due to the location, myself, although I know lots of people stay there. It is more than 3 blocks from there to Old Town Square, that's for sure.

The IC is right on Parizka and is a nice hotel. You can easily walk along the river to the Charles bridge and thence on to Mala Strana. The indoor pool is really quite nice there.

I also think the Intercontinental is a good choice. It has a good location, in Josefov, close to the synagogues, old Jewish Cemetery and Old Town Square. You should also have a nice view, whichever side of the hotel you are on--either the river and park across it or Old Town.
