Prague-Vienna SC Train: First vs Second Class

Hi everyone...just curious after looking at some websites regarding the train from Prague to Vienna we plan on taking this summer. What are the differences between First and Second Class? The websites don't seem to idicate much of one as both classes offer reserved seats...any thoughts? Is it worth the extra money for first class...or not really?
thanks as always!
cheers,
CC

First class seats are larger and more comfy. Also, typically first is les crowded - so there's room for more luggage - if you have more than a carry-on.

We always do First if traveling with luggage - and the cost rarely seems much higher.

I just took the train from Prague to Vienna in December. Don't bother paying for the upgrade. 2nd class is quite roomy and comfortable. The only difference may be(I don't know for sure)space for luggage. This didn't matter to me as I only carry one bag. The train was very clean with a food/beverage car in the center. Hope this helps.

IMO apply the same criteria to your trains as your hotels

You can sleep well in a youth hostel but do you just to save money?

IMO after 40 years of European train travel i will say that first class is well worth the extra cost for most travelers

and also that folks who don't realize this just have not ridden in first class.

there are often IMO many more empty seats in first class as well - i nearly always have room for my luggage on a seat next to me. 2nd class you may be fighting for room in the perhaps already bulging overhead luggage rack - maybe having to reach across seated passengers to access it.

Thanks everyone...making luggage storage less of a hassle is always key for me...so it looks like 1st might have an advantage there..thanks for the quick feedback everyone!

It also depends on the day you travel. I went on a Monday and the train was virtually empty.
