Prague Top 5 Attractions
What are the best things to see and do in or near Prague? I'll be there for 4 days in July.
|
buy a travel book and pick things that interest you. there is little that is not covered in the traditional books.
|
Go the Hradcany (which is the castle district). The pass that you purchase for the entry fee is good for 3 days. Hradcany is the largest fortified castle in Europe, and is 650 hectares. Make sure that you go to St. Vitus Cathedral, Stredova Monastery, the Golden Well, St. George's Basilica, and the museums in Hradcany. Make sure you get to the very top of the hill and look down into Prague. Also spend time in Old Town Square, where you can see the Astrological Clock and the Tyn Church. There's plenty to see in Prague.

Don't forget to walk along Karlov Most (the Charles Bridge).

Hi Dan,
There is also the Charles Bridge, the Jewish cemetery and the Old New Synagogue.
Just walking around Prague is "something to do".
Topping for Dan.

Thanks. Jimbo, I will read the travel books (fodors, etc.) but I thought travellers might have special insights based upon their experiences ...

If you enjoy art nouveau architecture be sure to take a tour of the Municipal House. While the ground floor and the basement are open to the general public, the galleries on the second must be seen by taking the tour.

http://www.obecni-dum.cz/
