Prague to Munich via Cesky Krumlov?

We are planning to travel around Germany for 2 weeks and will start in Berlin and thought we would go by train to Prague, then to Cesky Krumlov and then on to Munich.
Is this possible ...how would you travel between these places?
We are planning to hire a car and head from Munich up the Romantic road to the Rhine then back down to somewhere where we can drop the car and head to Geneva to meet our children.
We would really appreciate some thoughts and perhaps experiences of this area.
Thanks all

We traveled from Prague to Munich via CK earlier this year. We took the bus from Prague to CK, and then the shuttle from CK to Vienna. The rest of the trip was by train, from Vienna to Munich via Salzburg. Of course, we spent a few days in each place.

Hi RosieinOz; Renting a car from Prague is an easy drive, under three hours, to Chesky Krumlov. You could visit Chesky Budejovice while in CK. The drive to Munich is under four hours and on the way you could visit the wonderful city of Passau. After Munich, the Romantic road is a great way to go with many lovely towns/citys to visit. Thanks Sharon and Iris
Iris if we hire a car from Prague does it mean we will suffer a penalty for dropping it in Germany?
We could hire from Berlin but taking a car to big cities can be a pain, although we have left cars at airport long stay car parks (Rome) in the past and that works. We thought we would hire from Munich to avoid these problems.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

By train:

While Cesky Krumlov to Munich is much closer distance wise it invloves at least four train changes.

Prague to Munich is MUCH more direct - many direct trains including sleepers) are available with no train changes.

Any chance of simply doing Cesky Krumlov as long day trip (or overnight roundtrip) from Prague and simply taking a train from Berlin to Prague and then a train from Prague to Munich?

In June we rented a car on our last day in Munich. From there we drove to Prague where we stayed for 4 nights and just parked the car in a secured overnight garage. From there we drove to Cesky Krumlov for one night. Then we went on to Salzubrg/Fussen before returning car back to Munich.

We found it very convenient to have our own car. We did have a TomTom which did make it easier to find our hotel and the parking garage in Prague. I would recommend a GPS if you do rent a car.

YOu will pay a very huge fee for dropping a Czech car in Germany, if you can find a company that will allow that.

Europcar allows it and charges about US$400-500 extra to do that (around 300 euro). Hertz also allows it and charges about that much, also.
