Prague to London; CDG Airport Connection Between Terminals

We are flying in October from Prague to London via Paris. We will fly from Prague via Czech Airlines or Air France, landing at Charles De Gaulle Airport Terminal 2B. Our flight to London leaves from Terminal 1 only 1hr 45 min later. Is this short a connection time reasonable? Please note, we know we could fly nonstop from Prague to London, but choose not to do so.

Herman,

I would not risk such a short connection time - you need to go through immigration twice, the bus between terminals takes 15-20 min alone not counting waiting time, plus you'll need to queue for a boarding pass, go through security...

Are you aware that EasyJet flies from Prague to London Stansted and has very low fares? That's what I'd do if I were you. I can't understand why you would want to spend more on a more complicated itinerary.

Hope this helps,
Andre

this is a perfectly safe connection---i think that 45 minutes is standard for that airport...BUT you have to know the system...there is a very efficient bus system under the terminals....follow the transfer signs---do not go through immigration....you exit your plan, follow the transfer signs and usually go down a flight of stairs and out to a waiting bus...it circulates from terminal to terminal....there is more than one route i believe so ask for assistance or read the signs or bus signs...
i have a 50 minute transfer coming up on a inter europe flight to a trans atlantic flight and my only worry is if the inter europe flight is late, which they often are....there is a later transatlantic flight if i miss the first one but of course you risk it being full.....
your timing looks to be to be sufficient....just don't carry much as that slows you down...
the last two times i have done the transfer, we did not even clear customs or any immigration in paris

I took the AF connection to Prague via CDG. I had a rather short layover but I made it just fine. CDG is a much more passenger friendly airport than Heathrow. Actually please recheck your terminal info because CSA is on the same codeshare alliance with AF and they should be using the CDG 2 series terminals. Terminal 1 is for all the other carries not in their alliance, e.g. United, etc.

Thanks Andre, rhkkmk, and Franto for your help. Andre, we are traveling round trip from San Francisco to Paris on British Airways in business class. We prefer BA because their seating is wonderful. After a Paris stayover, we are flying round trip to Prague. Thus on our return trip to San Francisco we must connect in Paris and London Heathrow. Flying to London Stansted would make no sense for us.

Franto, I believe my terminal info is correct. Flights from Prague to Paris on CSA/AF, as you say, land at CDG Terminal 2 (2B). However, flights to London via BA leave from CDG Terminal 1.

Since we need not go through customs at CDG on our return leg, I gather from rhkkmk and Franto that 1hr 45 min is a reasonable time to get from Terminal 2B to 1, if nothing goes wrong.

Again, thanks all, and thank Fodors for this wonderful Forum.

I don't think it will be a problem, either. I've made several transfers in that airport in 45 min going from Terminal 2 to Terminal F and that isn't any quicker than Terminal 1.
