Prague, by all means! Even if they have MacDonalds and KFC.

Definately Prague - although be warned. April is the beginning of the high tourist season, so the city will be packed with tourists. Nevertheless, Prague is one of my fav. travel destinations - plenty to see and do!

To ThinGorjus: Not blind or daft. Did not see banners strung across the entire sidewalk advertising American things 200m ahead. Not complaining about casinos, but when there is 1 every 50ft... Still stand by what I said. Did not find Vienna expensive, also found the people MUCH more pleasant. Try asking for help in Prague. Out of 5 cities, Prague is the only one where we were taking naps; not because we were tired, but because it killed time.

Both cities are lovely. Two years ago Vienna was much more expensive than Prague, but I rather wonder about today. My step-daughter is going to Prague in April so I looked up the hotel we stayed in. In '03 it was about $110/night. Today it is 280 euros! Yes, they are still using the krona but have obviously upped the prices to celebrate joining the EU.

It is your prerogative if you do not like Prague. I am very curious to know a bit more since I have been highly recommending Prague to friends.

How many days you were in Prague? What areas/sites did you visit in Prague? What area was your hotel located at?

And when you travel, what do you look for? Is it history, art, architecture, night life, opera/concerts, good food/drink, craft?

absolutkz, what neighbourhood were the banners in? Of course, around the very touristy Charles Bridge there are signs, banners, and tons of tacky souvenir shops. However, you find such things in any large city, even New York and Paris.

I only saw a casino on Na Prikope, very near Wenceslas Square, which is a major tourist spot. But, sweetie, what is wrong with casinos? Do you have an aversion to gambling? If you don't like casinos, don't go inside. Simple as pie.
