Dobry Den Mile,
July 5th is a National Holiday (Cyril & Methodius), AS WELL AS July 6th (Jan Hus). According to my calendar, those days fall on Mon & Tues in 2004, meaning the Czechs will all be heading out to their summer cottages for R&R! Plan on most things being closed. I don't know about the Prague Castle, etc, but smaller chateaus do close down, because the caretakers are government workers (one of my friends worked at a castle in Brandys, and he always had off on those days). I was in Prague DURING the flood (I go every summer), and there were still things open. I just walked everywhere! Anyway, you could always see a movie or go shopping in the touristy areas, which will surely have some stores open. July was HOT this past summer, and it was also crowded. It will be crowded all summer long, so just go whenever you can fit it in, and hope for good weather.

As far as tours to Cesky Krumlov, etc, I am not sure of the best ones. You might even consider taking public transportation to the town, and then finding a good tour guide once you get there. Hotel Ruze in Krumlov is beautiful, and I'm sure they have connections on good tour guides. Enjoy!!

I love Prague as well. But please do not ask a question in cap letters. It's considered rude, lazy, and difficult to read. Just trying to help!!!

I believe you could have helped mile by giving some needed info. about Prague instead of just criticizing about the caps.
