We enjoyed seeing the municipal house, too, but not the concert we saw there. It was a group unknown to us (can't remember the name, either) but we wrongly assumed that because it was in the Municipal House it would be a professional concert. We paid $125 USD for 2 tickets and, not only was the concert only 45 minutes long, it was very mediocre. But the building was certainly worth seeing.

I too love the municple House and did a tour of it on a visit a couple of years ago.
http://www.obecnidum.cz/web/en/homepagI went tpoi a concert there as well but did not pay anywhere near what jrjcollins payed,you were well and truely ripped off on that one(btw what angency did you go through for tickets?)
I love the towers in Prague ,the Powder tower next to the Municiple house is great but the old town hall tower,st Vitus Cathedral tower,Petrin tower are all worth a trip up as are the towers on either side of Charles bridge ,just do a bit of training before you try to do all of these as it can result in very sore calf muscles.The TV Tower a very modern communist era edifice was one of my favourite places but closed down at the end of january which is a real shame.
There are so many wonderful places to see in prague and they are all a delight.have a look at this website for lots of info.

I am off to Prague again in May for a very special attraction,the Prague Beer Festival,maybe not a must see for most folks but definately one for me.

Prague is the most beautiful capital city I've ever seen - and it is particularly special at night. My favourite time is about 3-4 in the morning when it is even more magical than it is during the day.

I took a walking tour on my first night in Prague. It was with the company above and called "Ghosts and Beer"...don't see it currently on their website, but the above looks to be about the same thing. It's just a little over an hour and was a fun, quick, informative intro to the area around Old Town Square. Very informal...just show up at the square if you can make it--no reservations.

My recommendations for something special
ditto on Municipal House (I think booking ahead for an English tour is still the way to do it)
St Nicholas Church in Mala Strana was a jewel, in a city with lots of churches.

Loved doing a walking tour of the old city. And pub crawling at night. The beer is amazing! We also loved going to a performance at the State Opera House, which was surprisingly affordable.

It does depend on your particular interests, but we enjoyed the Mucha Museum and a twilight walk along the river, over the Charles Bridge, and around Kampa Island. It was autumn, so the air was crisp and the leaves had turned many colors. Of course, the Prague Castle complex is amazing.
We also found the old Jewish cemetary and the various holocaust remembrances and exhibits very moving--when we visited Berlin later in the week, it made our walk through Belin's memorial, Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas, more meaningful.

Drinking Becherovka before (almost) every meal
Buying a large oil painting while slightly shiitake'd from said spirit in Karlstein
Taking in the views of the spires and rooflines from the hill of Letna park, and then looking up at night from the Charles bridge when all the buildings are lit up spectacularly
Having box seats at the Opera at the Estates Theater, enjoying the hell out of the Catalog Aria from Don Giovanni where Mozart himself premiered it

Listening to Smetana's Moldau in Smetana hall and getting all weepy... my trip report is here somewhere, but I think Elaine probably keeps her notes more up-to-date!

yes that is superb,did that in 2002 and had box No11,my first true Opera experience a
and what an experience.

I usually prefer it after a meal but a couple of years ago I got into a session with a few friends and we were mixing Becherovka with Silovice,a very lethal combination only to be tried by the very brave or terminally stupid,you can guess which category I come under.

What wonderful ideas and thoughts! Leaving Wednesday and taking this with me!

Just read your post. Hope you are checking Fodors from Prague. Another must see is Vyshehrad, where Prague first began; there is a beautiful church there (St. Peter & Paul), a beautiful national cemetery, & this is a quieter, less touristed part of Prague.
I second the Becherovka!!! Delicious!!! Try a mixed drink called Story, combination of Becherovka & grapefruit juice!!!
