HI
If you click at the top of this screen on Destinations (or on Hotels or on Restaurants) you will find lots of basic suggestions, including some comments from other travelers. I have a file on Prague; if you'd like to see it, email me at [email protected] Bring comfortable shoes/boots--many of Prague's streets are cobblestoned. |
Hello
We stayed at the Pension Dientzenhofer in Mala Strana last Oct. Loved it! Small, quiet, 5 minutes from Charles Bridge. Staff are very friendly and warm. About $125 including breakfast. Try to see a play, ballet, or opera at the beautiful theaters in Prague. You will love Prague!! Absolutely beautiful city. My daughter was there in Dec studying abroad and she said it was magnificent with all the Christmas decorations and lights. |
Thanks Elaine and Kwoo. E'd Info @
Prague...and have read lots of messages. David Restaurant seems popular and the Pension Dientzenhofer is mentioned several times. I'm now thinking morning overview tour (bus), ballet or opera one evening and leave the rest of the very short time for oohing and aahing and hopefully getting inside a lovely old church. Elaine, I plan to E you. Again thanks so very much. |
St Nicholas Church in Mala Strana would be a must see, if you want to get an idea of Baroque grandeur. They also give concerts there all year round, so you can avoid the entrance fee to just see the church by going to a concert and looking around.
Yes, definitely see a ballet or opera. The season will be in full swing. The State Opera house is a gem, and the National Theater is grand, as well. |
I second the st. nicholas cathedral! It was incredible, also try to see "Don Giovani" by Mozart if you are looking for a play. The czechs love mozart and he first directed this play in the Estates theater in old town. Very cool to sit where mozart once did.

Pardon me, darling, but someone posted recently that Pension Dientzenhofer was a dump. A BROWN (from mildew) shower curtain was found in the bath. I certainly would never stay in a place with a brown shower curtain.
