Prague in July

I am planning a trip to Europe in July with my younger brother - he wanted to go to Prague, but I am worried it will be to hot or overrun that time of year. has anyone gone in july?

I know some people here have visited Prague in summertime. I recall they said that the hotels are located in old buildings with thick walls so the heat doesn't penetrate.

We were there last July, and it was drizzly and cold for a while. Take a sweater or jacket, or be prepared to buy one there. Why not, it'd be a souvenir.

no, I've only been in May-June; however, from what I've read (and normal patterns), that is indeed one of the peak tourism months in Prague (with August), so there will be lots of tourists there. I think it's about the same temps as general northern Europe, so can be hot (or not).

Sorry, but last year was BRUTAL. I only had a fan in my apartment, and I had it running on high 24/7. I've been in Prague in July for the past 7 summers. It is usually hot, but there have been times when it was 55 for the high. You just never know. Bring an umbrella, too.

There will be lots of tourists. Anywhere you go in Europe will have tourists in July. If it is your only chance to go, don't worry about the weather or congestion. Just go & enjoy.
