Prague hotel - deciding between 3 hotels
My husband and I will be in Prague for 3 days in July, and are deciding between 3 apartment/hotels. The first two are about the same cost, and the third is about 30% more expensive, but we're mostly interested in picking the right location for our stay. Our priorities are:
1. hip walking vibe, great bakeries & restaurants nearby 2. easy access to transportation 3. access to the sights Which of the 3 options below would maximize our priorities above? MyHouse Apartments http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...e_Bohemia.html Dolce Vita Suites http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...e_Bohemia.html Wenceslas Square Terraces http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...e_Bohemia.html |

I'd take one of the first two options. But visit the Commie Museum near the third - when we did, it was above a gambling parlor.

I wouldn't stay in Wenceslas Square myself; I agree with Russ, out of the three I'd choose one of the first two (but without reading the reviews). I've stayed a few times in Mala Strana (west side of the river) and once in the Old Town, close to the first two. I prefer Mala Strana, as long as I'm not on the going up to the castle, but Old Town is very convenient as well.
The center of Prague is fairly compact and a great walking town, plus there are trams and subways that can get you anywhere quickly. Any of the three would put you close enough to walk to or take public transit to nearly everything you'd want to do in Prague. |
Based on location I'd take the first one, no question.

p.s. I stayed in a hotel and an apartment when I visited Prague last summer. This is the apartment. It was great (building itself is grotty, though).

I like the second one best,The location is heart of the Old town and you are only a few minutes walk to Old Town Square and wenseslas square, you are a short walk from Narodni trida Tram metro interchange. The metro station is there presently closed as it has undergone a total rebuild but may be open again when you are there.i passed by a couple of weeks ago and it was looking pretty near completion.anyway loads of trams nearby and its a very short walk to Mustek metro.
Loads of good bars cafes and resturaunts in the area too. |
