Prague Hotel Choice

Going to Prague in early June. Have narrowed down hotels to the following: Savoy, U Krale, U Pava and Metamorphis. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

Sorry. I am not familiar with these hotels. We did stay, however at the Kloisters last year. They even pick you up at the airport, if you so desire. Freindly staff and nice hotel. Enjoy Prague!

Not familiar with the hotels you mentioned. I stayed at the Cloister Inn and liked it a lot: convenient and quiet location close to the Charles bridge and public transit. Nice buffet breakfast included. Also good security if that's a concern. Clean, modern rooms in a non-descript building. They also have the restaurant on the corner a block away. I liked it too. They have a good web site to check out.

I think you can find positive remarks about most, if not all four of these, here on ths forum.

Although I have never been to Prague (going in May), I have researched hotels there rather extensively, and I am quite impressed with the staff and the website of www.a-prague.com - - and they list all four of these, and all four have recived their highest ranking of 1.00 (on a 1 to 5 scale). About 25% of the properties they list have this highest ranking (or better than a 1.5).

All four are out of the price range of places I have researched for my family (we're sticking to a budget), and so, I can't tell you anything based on having looked into them.

I think you'll find very good info on the a-prague.com website about all four, and if you have any other specific questions, you can even reach members of their agency's staff on ICQ for some real time chat/Q&A.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
I have only checked out the SAvoy and admittedly a few years ago- very nice hotel. Good location and very well fitted out rooms (opened about 7 years ago I think). Savoy is often available on www.luxurylink.com as an auction - so check it out for what may be a bargain price.

Very interesting, travelnick...

It's offered right now (auction closes tomorrow, March 13) for four nights, valued at $1678 - - current bid = $500 ($520 to outbid, plus $15 handling costs).

Based on your experience, what do you suppose the final bid will be?
Dear LisaB; Can only tell of the U Pava, which I have raved about since being there in spring of '02. Staff very friendly, location on quite street across from some gardens. U Pava means under the peacock. Guess what bird wakes you up in the morning from the park. You can see the castle from the windows (at least from our room) which is great lit up at night.
Very close to Charles Bridge. Wife loved the bathroom and general cleanliness. I arranged everthing via email and fax, including a pickup at the airport. You'll love Prague. We sure did!
