I stayed at Marriott in all three same locations using points on one trip.

In Prague, I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel which is now a Hilton property, across the street from the Marriott. I did go inside the Marriott and it was very nice.

In Vienna, I stayed at the Marriott on the Ringstrasse and in Budapest, I stayed at the Marriott on the Danube.

All very nice hotels in great locations!

You used to be able to get the Budapest Marriott for about $75-95/night using Priceline but that has been a few years ago. I don't know what it is going for now.

You're in for a great trip!

BTW, look at Cesky Krumlov too if it isn't already on your itinerary! Sweet, little town with a great castle... good for a night or two.

Thanks fior your input. In Budapest the Ritz Carlton is also a marriot option. M

Yes I know about CK. Figure it as day trip from Prague. We also want to go to Terezin Concentration Camp. Planning 5 nights, Prague, 2 in Vienna, and 4 in Budapest. Train between cities

I'd consider taking one of those nights from Prague for a night in Cesky Krumlov instead of doing a day trip there from Prague. (Then take a shuttle from CK to Vienna.) That would save quite a few hours of backtracking, and I think CK might be more fun at night. But that means maybe riding to Vienna in a van instead of a train from Prague.

The direct bus (instead of the train) to CK is the more practical option from Prague to CK; the direct bus drops you closer to the center of CK than the train does, and the train requires a change. I'm the kind of person who would still consider the train despite the inconvenience, but to many others getting there faster and easier by bus would make more sense.

The Ritz is an option in Budapest? Nice! They were not part of the Marriott family when I took my trip. Do they have a good location along the river?

All the rooms in the Marriott look out over the Danube to Buda, Castle Hill, Chain Bridge, etc. Really nice views! Fantastic Exec Lounge!

Terezin is a very good, but sobering, day from Prague. Highly recommend it.

CK is good for a night as Andrew notes. Very nice after the day trippers leave. And the castle has one of the last remaining baroque theaters in the world. Only a couple of English tours each day with a small amount of people on each tour (20 maybe?). Well worth getting a ticket for in advance.

Are you going to Melk from Vienna? Really worth the time! Maybe take a night from Budapest and add it to Vienna if you can... Or extend your stay by a night or two?
