ttt to read later.

Why is it necessary for people to clutter up a thread with all these bookmarking and selfish posts?

amp322 Nov 30th, 2007 05:02 PM

"drtravels" - How is bookmarking selfish? I've done that on other threads. Why else would people read this stuff, other than to get ideas about future travel?? It really bothers you that much to scroll down 1 inch? :-?

drtravels Nov 30th, 2007 06:16 PM

When you bookmark with a reply it shows as a new post and bring the thread to the top. It doesn't add any USEFUL information and gives the impression a new post that is pertinent occured. It only benefits the person who bookmarked.

It's not about scrolling down an inch, it's about taking the time to open a previously read thread where the only NEW information is a USELESS bookmark post.

drtravels,

Do you really think that your post was useful? Chill out and remember that no one appointed Post Police!!

I seem to have caused some frustration. Please advise how I do what I want to do.

I want to read an article later, I don't have time to read it now. How else do I link it into my thread so I can read it without bookmarking?

Try taking your own advice before giving it out.

"Bilboburgler" - I'm not sure there is another way, since everyone else also just tops the threads for later, and reads them when they need to access the info for future trips. Perhaps we could all go to "drtravels" posts, and top them all off, one by one. That would serve the useful puropse of perhaps frustrating the poster to the point that they don't come back!! \:D/

jolts, I would like to go from Prague to Vienna. I was wondering the cost of the train and how long it took? Was it hard to figure out the train schedule when you were there? Thanks.

To offer another opinion on the National Marionette Theatre
http://www.prague-tourist-informatio...ulture/mozart/

my friend and I thought it dreadful, and we left at intermission. It is very popular, and tickets should be reserved in advance, so we may very well be in a minority opinion.

amp322 Dec 1st, 2007 09:57 PM

Honestly, marionettes & black light theater are not my thing, either, but some of my friends saw the Don Giovanni marionette production & liked it.

bilboburgler, you can use 'Email this page' link and email this post to your address, even add the comment if you want. I do this often and keep these emails in my travel folder by for later.

Or you can bookmark it, nothing wrong with that.

Hester, while waiting for Jolts to respond, I'll just mention that second class train tickets from Vienna to Prague in October were 44.40 Euros pp. We traveled on a Saturday and there were many open seats/compartments. I printed out the schedule at home so it was easy to indicate which train at the ticket counter, and the staff had enough English to be very helpful.
Think it took about 4-5 hours -- don't pay much attention to time while on vacation, except of course when it came to Prague's enchanting
Astronomical Clock.

29Feb, thank you so much for your reply.

Hester:

Sorry for the delay. Just spent a long weekend in NOLA celebrating a birthday.

My recollection is that we spent 3100 koruna per couple for first class seats plus reservation (works out to about $75/person. Very smooth trip which took about 3 hours.
