Prague-Budapest NEED ANSWER ASAP

How long do you need for each city? My husband and I are going in August and we have to book soon (so the travel agent tells us). We will do some walking (in our 50's) and take some tours or hire a driver. Need to know because we have to catch a plane back to London to go home. How hot do you think it will be? Any advice on where to stay and what to do would be really appreciated. Thanks so much. I always get really good advice on this site.

A lot of terse questions, without a lot of context.

<<How long do you need for each city?>>

A week? Three days? to do what?

<<How hot do you think it will be?>>

See weatherbase.com

<<Any advice on where to stay and what to do would be really appreciated.>>

For Prague, I recommend the excellent website of www.athos.cz - - if you are familiar with live online chatting (on ICQ), you can get real-time advice from agents there. We really enjoyed having an apartment near the Old Town Square.

I trust that you will get good guide books about each city. In the meantime, there is

We love both these cities. Last year we spent five days in Prague and four in Budapest (with a couple of days in Vienna in between).

We stayed at the Maximilian Hotel ([email protected])in Prague and at the Hotel Victoria in Budapest ([email protected]). Both were great.

Some sites that might be helpful in your planning:

I think you will experience hot weather. We went in May and had some pretty warm days in both cities, especially Budapest. I would recommend you book hotels with AC (both of ours did).

I have no idea what you are interested in, but hopefully the above sites will give you a pretty good range of things to see and do.

I visited both in August two years ago. Budapest was hot and humid; Prague not quite as hot. I would recommend booking a hotel with air conditioning in Budapest if heat/humidity are "issues" for you.

In terms of time spent, depending on your interests, as a general guideline I would say three days in Budapest and four in Prague.

hello: I would spend 7 days in czech
republic : 4 in Prague and 3 days for
you to see the 3 other very popular towns, like Cesky Krumlov,Kutna Hora and the spa town. all of them are day
trips. In Budapest I would spend 3 in the city and 1 extra to do the Danube
Bend day tour. also worth doing.
Hotels: well I would book in the area
close to the old town ask for hotels in the zone praha 1 or 2 max. 3 (don
giovanni hotel in the zone 3 is the best.) But I would highly recommend the
Hilton atrium , the four season (depending on your budget) and the Marriott or the Renaissence great location, good hotels.
Excellent agency for day tours. **athos** their wed.site is www.athos.cz
this company is great, people speak
all English and you can do everything
direct thruw internet.
a bunch of info. wed.sites are:

.gotohungary.com
.visitczech.cz
.budapestinfo.hu
.danubiusgroup.com
.things2doinprague.com
.czecot.com

Hope ,this info helps you in some way.
Have a great day.

Hi
I recently traveled to Prague for the first time (but not the last time). If you'd like to see my travel file, email me at [email protected]

I would say 4 days for Prague as a minimum, without daytrips.

For ideas on what to see in each place, you need a good guidebook. To get started, click at the top of this screen on Destinations, and there's lots of info on each city.
Once you narrow down your interests, ask again here for some advice.

For Prague, the most central places to stay are in the historic center. Areas are called
Old Town, New Town, Josefov (those three areas are all on the "right" side of the river) and Lesser (Little) Quarter, on the left side of the river.
