Prague & Paris with 17 yr old Godson
 

Hi All..
Well I am planning a trip to Paris and Prague. It will be my second time to Paris and first time in Prague. I will be bring my 17yr old Godson. This will be his first time to Europe. I have a general idea where to take him while in Paris. However not sure what to do in Prague. I was planning on staying from April 2nd to April 7th in Paris and flight out to Prague on April 8th. I was planning on staying in Prague from APril 8th to APril 12th or 13th. WHat are your thoughtss? Also since he is 17yrs of age does he get in free to some or most of the attractions in both places? All your help would be greatly appreciated..

Many museums in Paris, including the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, and Centre Pompidou are free to visitors under 18.

Have you thought of looking at a guidebook for Prague to see what there is to do? I would guess the usual things that are prime tourist attractions would be appropriate for a 17 yr old, the castle complex (including St Vitus cathedral), the bridge, Old Town Square and Powder Gate, the Jewish quarter tour (specific synagogues and the cemetery), some of the beautiful old churches like St Nicholas, and if you want museums/galleries, there is always the national gallery up near the castle, as well as the Loreto Chapel, St Agnes convent for Medieval art, and I highly recommend the City of Prague museum for history of the city.

I don't think he'd get in free to places in Prague, but you can check. They have some reduced fares by age (or if he has an ISIC card) but the cutoff is age 15-16 for the national ones and the castle complex.

I spent 4 days in Prague with my 21 year old niece a few years back and we could have easily stayed longer. However, you might think about having the 4.5 days and doing a day trip to Cesky Krumlov. Either way, if you can have the extra day - definitely do it!

A lot of the recommendations would depend on what your Godson would like. For example, does he like art, music, history, architecture? Or is he more into technical things, modern things?
