Prague Accomodations

Help me choose! We are mid-20s, don't need (or want) luxury, care about location and charm. I am considering the following:

Guest House Lida: recommended by Rick Steves, seems to be an excellent deal, but not in the center of things. I'm willing to spend more to be in the Old Town.

At King George: was very interested in this place, but I've read many comments about the loud bar!

U Lilie: next to King George, and cheaper. Can't find much feedback on this place.

7 Andelu: a little more money; can't find any feedback on this place.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hello Monique,
Slightly older age group than you but I have booked in at The House at King George. It is a superb location and very reasonably priced.
I'll take a risk with the noise from the Irish bar downstairs, but I understand that if you request a room at the back of the building it should be OK.
Enjoy your visit!

I was in the U Lilie today. Actually had lunch opposite. It's a nice place, great value for money and the website gives details on individual rooms. I recommend it for the apartments.

There's a lot more info at;

http://www.jasoncholt.com/prague/index.html

Jason

Monique,

When my friend and I (early 30's) went to Prague in January, we stayed at the Hotel Metamorphis in the Old Town section.

THE most charming hotel I've stayed at in Europe, and steps away from very fun bars/pubs filled with people in their 20s and 30s.

www.metamorphis.cz

Stayed at U Krale Jiriho (At King George) in April 2000. It was a little unclean - the glasses in the bathroon still had water in them from the previous occupant when we checked in. If you can handle that, then the location is great. The Irish Pub never was a problem - and we tend to turn in early.
