Prague

We are considering a 3 to 4 day side trip after a 7 day Baltic Cruise which returns to port May 29 at Copenhagen.
Could someone who has been there be so kind as to give me a snapshot description of Prague. Any other destinations/suggestions that are close enought so as not to spend time traveling to. We have spent time in France and Italy so we want to exclude for this trip.
Thanks,

Jim

You can read a "snapshot description" of Prague - - or Amsterdam, or Berlin or Vienna or numerous other "easy" destinations - - by clicking on DESTINATIONS, at the top of any page on this website.

From Copenhagen, Prague is "close enough"... only if you fly... which is true for virtually every other destination NOT in Scandinavia. See www.whichbudget.com for cities served by Sterling, Snowflake, SkyEurope and other low-cost intra-Europe airlines.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi J,

Have you been to Amsterdam?

Since you're going to have to fly anyway, picking the city doesn't seem to be limited. Where are you flying home from?

If you haven't been to Prague, I heartily recommend it to you. It is a beautiful, relatively small and manageable city and the historic center is very gorgeous. I also think 3-4 days is just right. If you like historic places, architecture, classical music everywhere, you will love Prague.

We are flying to Copenhagen for the cruise and then returning to Copenhagen, total of 10 days travel. Wanted to keep the flight short so as to enjoy the 4 days since they really go fast. Considered Scotland, Amersterdam and Prague. with only 4 days, feel Prague offers the best in proximity and (from what I hear ) the architecture, old city beauty, history, music, city/travel size and a little less touristy. Certainly not going for the food or would be in favorite area, France. Will keep an open mind ( and mouth ) to food though.
Thanks to all of you who always help out tremendously with comments and tips.

Thanks,

Jim

PS: Will fly home to Tampa Bay area from final destination which in this case will be Prague.

Excellent decision!

It is an excellent decision, but Berlin or Munich would be virtually just as good. Hopefully, you have started consuming more than just a "snapshot description" (on Prague, but on other contnders as well) before locking anything into stone.
