Prague

Hi again,

I simply can't decide where to go yet. But, has anyone been to Prague yet? How long would you recommend for a stay there? By the way, is it easy to get to Budapest from there? Does anyone know how long does it take by i.e. train?

Prague is beautiful and deserves at least 2 days. you will save several hours travel time if you fly from budapest.I think the train is approx 8 hours but you can check on eurail.com. The flight was less than 2 hours as i recall.

Prague is one of my favorite cities in Europe. Three or four days could easily be spent there. I have been there five times. The train to Budapest takes just under 7 hours. Although I know some people really like Budapest, I much prefer Prague. You might add Cesky Krumlov to the Prague trip and leave Budapest for another time since it is 7 hours one way.

Hi CC,

Have you looked at the miniguide to Prague at www.fodors.com?

I would 3 or 4 days would be about right. There's lots to see depending on your interests.

For a first trip to Pragaue I would allow at lest 4 days - more if you;re going to take trips outside of town - but then I can't bear whirlwind trips. WE flew to Budapest and it was very painless. A friend took the train and it took between 8/9 hours - although she enjoyed it - but she had 8 weeks for her trip and we had only 3.

Hi clovecleo,
I was in Prague last summer for 10 days. I remarked at one point during the trip that I would not have to go back since I was there for so long. Wrong!! I would go back again. It is one of my favortie places and there is lots to see and do. Also, sitting in outdoor cafes was nice (which I usually do not take time to do as I'm on the go). Happy travels.

I recently got back, would recommend at least 4 days, 5 if you want to take a daytrip.
I have a file, if you'd like to see it, email me at
