Prague

Next spring we have 4 days in Prague. Our hotel selections are 3 star such as Meran, Jerome House, Sax, Cloistra, Central, and Meteror, all centrally located. None are pricy but are thay clean and in a safe area for lots of walking any time of day? Any other suggestions in the moderate price range? Also taking the train to Vienna with luggage and any info is helpful

Hey, I visited Ambiente too, last new years eve time. Was a lovely quiet place, don't be put off by the dark corridor and small looking interior, it's worth it!

The Hotel Constans on Bretislavova is next door to the Sax and is to be recommended. I stayed there for four days in June. The Mala Strana area is really handy for the Castle, Cathedral and Old Town, but is itself free from the hustle and bustle. Wouldn't recommend Wenceslas Square other than to visit in daytime - busy and on the seedy side

I don't think ANYONE has ever taken LUGGAGE to VIENNA before, so please write up a trip report and post it--you can even contact Beth and speak with her about getting your unique experience published next to her story about the two year job search (remember, no American has EVER looked for a JOB in LONDON, ENGLAND)

I'm a frequent traveler and know better, but got carried away buying Czech glass in Prague three years ago. Took the Train from Prague to Vienna. Unless it's changed, you've got to lug your bags up and down stairs (no escalators) in Prague and push the luggage above my head to get on the train. Would have been very difficult had it not been for others that helped.

We just returned from Prague. We stayed at a great, very clean 1 bedroom apartment in the best, most central location possible close to Old Town Square. It just worked out great and they even picked us up from the airport! The apartment was fully furnished with a fridge and coffee pot which we put to good use, as well as a washing machine which really came in handy!! You can view photos of it on line through www.travel.cz (our apartment was Husova 12, unit A2) The location could not have been better and we found it much cheaper than staying at a hotel. It is rated as a 4 star apartment house. We enjoyed the extra room over a small hotel room. You'll love Prague! Marcie
