Interesting....but where is Montevarchi in relation to Florence?> I'm a Prada fan, Fendi freak, as well as Moschino, Versace & I DO like the Italian/Spainish "home brand" the unknown big names but they produce excellent quality

OK, I am hooked - I lvoe a good bargain. I read the info on the link. Is rail transportation that good in Italy that you can get there? Will you really be able to cab it from the train station? Is it very expensive to rent a car for a day or two, that way you can have more flexibility? What about the "they only let 100 customers/hour in the warehouse at a time" I would hate to schlep all the way there not to get in. Anyone actually been there and can report their experience?

Montevarchi is sounteast of Florence. We wne tin July and there was no wait to get in. However, it is very diffcult to locate. The best way to get there is by car or bus.

Thank you Steve James, I will look into the links. Did you go there and does anyone know if its worth going?

Davidjac,

you went to prada, was it worth it? Was it really discounted? or jacked up prices and then discounted?

I went there during my visit to Florence mid-Oct. Definately worth the trip. We rented a car for went there two days in a row. Went to the D&G outlet first (though not my favourite brand) and then headed on to The Mall which has many brands like Gucci, Tods, Farragamo, La Perla, Armani, YSL etc. I went away with a lovely gucci bag at a huge discount and a classic Tod's at a great bargain. A classy place at discount prices. Renting a car was great as it gave us a chance to experience the beautiful countryside. What you need is good directions. If you plan to drive and want the directions, let me know and i'll dig out my notes. I love shopping and these outlets was one of the highlights for me.

The Prada outlet is in a different location to The Mall (which has Versace, Ferragama, Gucci, Armani)- about 30 mins drive apart.

We went to The Mall this summer. Mrs Diz01 got a leather Ferragamo jacket at roughly half price and I picked up a Gucci silk shirt at about 30% price and some Armani jeans at half price.

You take potluck on what is available at what sizes. I went looking for a jacket but couldn't find a jacket in any shop in my size so an open mind is needed.
