Powerscourt Waterfall

We plan to drive from Dublin to Kilkenny stopping first at Powerscourt Gardens before heading to Glendalough. Rick Steves says not to bother with the waterfall although it's referenced in Frommer's and Michelin. We are four adults. Waterfall or not?

Have you seen the reviews on TripAdvisor? Looks like the pros and cons are explained well:

You have to pay in because it's privately owned land. Not worth the detour IMO - especially if you're from the States with your natural wonders.

Very helpful! Thank you; I think we will follow your advice and Rick Steves and skip it...seems it would only be worth it if you had gorgeous weather and time to picnic.

Sadly, being from the States can mean that we are many, many miles from our natural wonders. Spoken from flat south Texas in the midst of a dreadful drought. Any waterfall sounds delightful to me.

You are so right, Jaja...this drought is really dreadful.
